About the event
This is a free event, to ensure access for all. If you wish to donate any amount toward this event, you will be asked to "pay what you can" on the booking page. All profits will be fed back into CFH, and this will ensure the continuation and growth of this event in the coming years. Join us for a talk about Kim's journey to ceramics (her mid life crisis without the sports car) and the inspiration for her current work; the geology of South Wales as an analogy for the repression and distortion of memories.
This will be followed by a demonstration of her approach to Nerikomi (creating geological blocks of porcelain) and the numerous patterns that can be extracted by cutting in different ways.
Those attending will have the opportunity to try the process of nerikomi carving for themselves, with the option to have their piece fired for an additional fee as this is a pay what you can event.
